I thought that as my egg layers went through their first molt this winter I would breed some new layers for next year. So I took my favorite layers, the NH reds and the Buff Orpingtons and put them in a coop with My Jersey Giant roosters. Egg laying stopped for all 5 girls so I gave it time. Over a month later I gave up and put my layers back in the layer coop with the Comets. Any one else have birds stop laying like this? They had recovered from molt and were laying eggs fine before the move. All I want is to breed some egg layers and all I get is frustration.
