Just curious, how many know what time of the day their hens lay eggs?

Mine lay mostly between 2 and 10 pm

Usually between 7am-3pm.

Mine 6-10 sometimes I find a rouge one when I go out in the morning

Always between 11 and 5. I have 15 layers and have found 0 eggs outside of that 6 hour period.

I have 22 hens from 2 different sources and they all lay around late afternoon. Strange that most of us have quails laying eggs only in a certain window. I wonder if feed or the environment have something to do with it.

I usually have hens that are morning layers or afternoon layers---- in otherwords I get about two batches of eggs a day. When I am collecting the eggs for fertility purposes I always keep the first batch to hatch (since they were morning eggs and it wasn't as hot yet).... we are in the 90's now--- eggs do develop slowing when it is that hot!

Most coturnix lay between 2-6 pm, its just when they do it.
