Egg laying trance???

Ok, curious ... what do your girls do when they lay???

I've watched my girls lay a few times and Justina seems to just watch what's going on around her, twitching her head this way and that or fiddling around with the shavings around her. Gracie seems to go into a trace-like state ... she just stares off in one direction. (I haven't seen Elenor lay yet - but she is LOUD about announcing the deed when it's done! LOL)

Most of mine sit in the nest box facing the back of the bucket. It's rare that I catch one where I don't see their butt sticking out!

Most of my hens go in a trance. I can sit there and pet them when normally I wouldn't be allowed to even touch them! I do have a couple of hens that do express their discontent though! lol!
