egg laying

I have just four hens, three weeks ago one got broody and I placed 10 fertile eggs given by a friend under her. I now have an added five chicks. during this period my other three hens stopped laying. but appear fine otherwise . is this a normal thing. my hens are aprox 15 months old and free range

Hens will start & stop laying for a number of reasons. Something upsets them or some other change. The stop when broody or when they molt.

It is perfectly normal & they should start up again in another week or two.
