How soon do they start laying? My chicks should be about 4 weeks or so (depending on how old they were when TSC got them). I tossed two boxes in there with wood shavings (which is what they have in there cage) and tossed in a box of sand. Lately I have one chicken who lays in the box, and only leaves it to eat, and drink (And sit on me, peck at me and poop on me). I was just currios why she does this. Also what the heck does it mean when a chick INSISTS on perching on the edge of the feeder. she sits right on top and glares down at everyone else.

I'm not an expert, but from what I have heard they don't start laying until about 5-6 months ish? Soooo long to wait, a bummer for those of us with 3-4 week olds haha. But until then...enjoying watching them grow

I love watching them grow! Its fun. Hey when can chickens live outside? Im not sure Im gonna be able handle putting them out....Ever! Im very very very very attached to them (kinda helps that there right in front of the refrigrator and washer and dryer.. where I spend too much time)
