egg laying

    We just got 8 black stars that are 24 weeks old that were laying where we got them from. Now that they are with us, how long might it be before they will start laying for us if they are already laying?

    I believe that most breeds start laying around 28 weeks at the earliest..so it may be awhile yet. Are you sure they were laying before? If so, then it will take a week or so for them to become comfortable enough to start laying again.

    Any change is very stressful for chickens and moving in a big change. It will likely take a few weeks for them to settle in and start laying again.
