Egg laying

Ok this is going to be the first egg I get so I've read that it could take a week or so before I get anything. I have 4 hens and she's the first I have seen inside the box. My red should be starting next then my other EE was just a singing so loud today while I was in there I till have 1 red that's not squatting yet she just runs away from me.

Ah, yes, for a bird not yet laying but approaching that point it is very common for them to try out the boxes and do some "practice runs" at the whole thing. Here's hoping you get that first egg soon!

So last night my EE was acting a little strange I thought something was in the coop they were all loud turns out she was pecking away and knocking the other hens off the roost.

Well I got my first egg late this morning!! I'm so excited I've been reading post all day wondering when I would get my first one..

So I have a question? I now have a rooster that popped in overnight and now my girls seem like they won't have anything to do with me. I got my first egg yesterday and I'm wondering will that change since there's a rooster in there. Do they lay at the same time everyday or will she skip days.
