egg peckers and can they be stopped??

i have a flock of around 30 chickens (10 egg laying age)
i had been getting 9 eggs per day but suddenly the number started dropping rapidly
now ive been lucky to get one egg a day, and most of the time its broken.
i thought perhaps they were laying out in the field somewhere but never found anything, however yesterday i saw the problem. the girls are eating their eggs

they were all flocked round the nest boxes munching away. i dont know who starts it but they all seem to join in (even the 10 week olds)

how can i stop this behaviour????

Maybe move the nest boxes up higher? Or try and go out earlier to get eggs, im not really sure. My chickens sometimes do eat their eggs (I only have 2) but only sometimes.

Once they start eating the eggs, it's almost impossible to stop them.

There is always freezer camp and starting over, or nests where the egg rolls to safety.

I put mustard in a broken egg they didnt like that at all but that could be just my bird but they don't do it now.
