Egg-periment for fertility?

I know. I will have to try the Trader Joes egg hatch one time. Its over an hour away from me and gas is almost $4.00 a gallon so it will have to wait. For now....Local eggs. I am so excited.

All my possible fertile Barnyard mixes are all set in the LG but will be switching over to the Hovabator tomorrow when my current eggs go into lockdown. The hens were free range and there were roosters. I would say about 1 rooster for 6 hens. And they were with their group of hens so I am hoping they are fertile. Guess we will find out. I got 23 eggs. Its all he had. So I will let everyone know in about 4-5 days how many clear eggs I have and how many eggs have veins. I am really excited about this!!!! They are really large eggs!!!!!

I've done the exact same thing and got some from my local chicken farm. They have cockerels running with the hens. I've got them to incubate with my Turkeys so won't be setting them until Friday. Fingers crossed we both get a good hatch rate - I've only got five. I've also got some cobb eggs being shipped to me - hopefully get those on Wednesday. They're the breed most commonly used as broilers in the UK.
