Hello! I have an 11 month old EE. Eggers went through a molt in the fall/winter and has started laying again about 2 weeks ago. She always had a slight greenish tint to her blue eggs compared to the blue ones laid by a different EE pullet but her eggs are now a darker shade of green and often have splashes of pigment. I originally thought it to be a blood smear due to just starting up again but definitely not. Thoughts?

The pictures are of the same egg, just different lighting. I'm clearly not a photographer 😂

Might just be some glitches as her system kicks into gear again. The dark splashes could also be a result of unevenly applied bloom, for the sake of curiosity have you tried washing and scrubbing off one of those eggs to see if that removes the darker color? Completely harmless if that's all that it is.

So curiosity got me and I scrubbed half the egg. So now that the splotchiness is solved, can someone please tell us if that egg is blue or more green-ish? Hahahaha

Both.
One my my OEs is laying green and blue striped eggs.
Mostly green but with blue bands around it where the coating didn't get.
