So I think the egg that killed my girl Delilah has pipped

This is my first egg hatching. I’m kinda excited

Hopefully the lil guy makes it!

Any advice for a first time egg Hatcher?

I raised the humidity and stopped turning. It’s a few days early but I’m excited.

June 28 It’s just a couple days early.

You posted a picture of an egg on June 30th. Is that this egg?

Looks like her egg is forming yes?

Yeah sorry set it in the 28th. 30th was the day I saw it forming so it stuck in my head. I had it set for the 26th to be hatch day. Math may have been a bit off by a day or two.

Best advice I was given on hatching was from a wise person on BYC. I was told, “sit on your hands”. Ducks take a long time to hatch so try not to be impatient and help. It is normal to hatch 24 hrs after external pip. Good luck!

So I checked on the egg this morning and the crack has gotten a little bigger.

I said “how ya doing in there little one” and the egg started moving back and forth and the little guy/girl was pushing a bit against the opening.

So the egg shell is a bit on the thicker side. And I’m worried the little one will not be able to fully break out. It’s been about 24 hours Sind I noticed the pipping. At what point would the duckling maybe need some help?

First time hatching so any help is appreciated
