I have read that if it is, the air sac stays small and the duckling grows too big to move well. I lost several ducklings and chicks when I first started hatching to what I think was that. I have since switched to dry hatching, where you do not add any water until lockdown and have much better hatch rates. Anyway, know that hatching is really difficult.
