so right now i have a thermometer in the center of my incubator with 6 eggs laying on their side around it, i stop turning tonight. so should i leave them on their side for the hatch or place them up in a part of an egg carton?

This is kind of a personal preference, I have done it both ways and had succefull hatches. For me it depends which incubator I have been using, I have turner for my LG that stands the eggs up so when I pull it out to go in lockdown I use either a egg carton like you said, or you can take a paper towel roll and cut it up and the eggs will sit right in them. However with my R-com, the eggs lay down during the whole incubation process so I leave them on there side when I go into lockdown. Hope this helps some and doesn't confuse you, lol.

i repositioned one of my thermometer's a little higher and realized if i put the eggs in the cartons i will have to readjust (it read 101.5 instead of 100.2-100.4) the temperature a little bit. so I'm leaning more towards leaving them on their sides.
