egg problem

im getting alot of eggs that have thick gooey stuff around the shell thats really hard to wash off. is it the food that im giving them? also, some have spider web cracks on one end of them, are the laying eggs standing up or something?

The cracks could be from the way they are laying. The gooy stuff if you are collecting them like right after they are laid is the bloom that protects the egg from bacteria entering the shell and shouldn't be washed off. If it is on them after they have been in the nest for a while then check to see if you find any broken eggs as it could be someone is and egg eater or an egg is getting broken and the others are covered it the egg.
