It is very possible. I would apply the ointments as I described, especially the blu-kote as your hens now may see this wound and pick at it to the point of infection. And you don't want to start any bad habits or infections.. I would get it as soon as possible.

Neosporin has pain killer or no pain killer in it. You can use the stuff without any pain killers in it. The pain killers are not good for poultry.
