Egg question

Then leave the eggs and see if eventually one or both goes broody. If you can while they are away mark the eggs you can use washable marker and put a 1-2 and go from there that way if one does go broody and she is sitting on way too many than your comfortable with you can remove some of the oldest eggs. They won't care as long as they have eggs to sit.

I started doing that with the first ones that was laid and they pushed them out of the house so I stopped. They have 7 eggs so far

LOL well picky girls just leave them alone then.. Do you see either of them spending anytime at the nest other than laying?

I put them in there at night and let them out during the day and they stay with the drakes. But I have noticed One keeps wanting to go back but decides not to.

Well they know when the right time is their hormones will dictate it. Are Rouens good at brooding? I don't know a lot about that breed other than they are beautiful.

You just never know I have heard Pekins aren't either but have seen proof here that they can and will hatch ducklings so nothing is carved in stone. My Runner eggs came from Runners that were brooders but in almost 2 yrs of having mine hatch here none have showed an interest. But having Muscovy's who needs any other breed to brood?
