We just found out that 6 of our chickens are male. If we were to keep one, would every egg be fertilized? How would we know which eggs to eat, and which ones have baby chicks starting inside?

It depends on how many hens you have as to if every egg would be fertilized. Fertized eggs are perfectly fine to eat. They won't have baby chicks in them unless they are put in an incubator or under a broody hen. Collect them every day and put them in the frig and they will all be fine to eat. If you want chicks, get an incubator or wait until a hen goes broody.

Eat them ALL !!!

UNLESS, of course, you want to raise more Roosters to butcher later.........

also worth mentioning that if you do this, your male to female ratio should be roughly:

for small breeds, one male for every 15 females.
for medium breeds, one male for every 10 females.
for large breeds, one male for every 8 females.

if you have "spare" roos after that, you can normally raise them separately without probs and fighting as long as they were all together from birth. until they're fat. then send them to "band camp".
