I have 2 RIR pullets probably around the same age (not sure on the age). One of them has finally been laying for a couple weeks or so perfect little light brown eggs.

Well, today the other one finally laid an egg, same base color as the other one but there will little teeny tiny white specs on it as well. I know this is her first egg and all, but I was just wondering if that's normal, or will her eggs always be like that...is it too much calcium or what? Is the egg ok to eat, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure it's fine... Some birds lay speckled eggs.

Every once in awhile, we'll get an egg with what looks like a whole chunk of oyster shell stuck onto the shell.

If you can't crack it open, then they're getting too much calcium.
