Egg Question

I know i ask allot of questions but you people are sooo smart!

I have a hen im not even sure what breed she is but she lays brown eggs usually medium sized sometimes kinda large but today when i went to collect eggs she was just laying when i got in there and the egg she laid i have to stop and stare at it was the size of a duck egg or pretty darn close i swear what causes this? and do you think she will lay another one like that again.

Hi, Probably an egg with a double yolk (double yolker). We have had 2 in the past few weeks.

I agree with the double yolker. When they are rather new to laying, their systems take a while to settle down. I had a double about once a week from my RIR for about 6 weeks, then I never got anymore. Sometimes they just lay a bigger egg. There are times when a little tiny one will appear. Its all part of the process.
