Hello,

I am trying to get some feedback on what could be happening. I have this beautiful splash ameracauna who lays large light blue eggs (about a year old now). She didnt lay her first winter - similar to the flock who came from the same hatchery as her.

This spring she was laying regularly but as of recent I find nothing in the coop from her. It's may now in new England so warm days cool nights. Only her eggs are "missing" for three weeks now. She's eating fine, engaging with her flock mates, vent is clean, full crop, etc. and there is no signs of a bound egg.

Anyone know what could be happening? Or do you have experience with something like this? She's my first ameraucana so is this common for the breed?

Sounds like she's just not laying or has a hidden nest. You can put a dollop of food coloring right inside the entrance of her vent, and see if any eggs come out with coloring on them - those would belong to her. Are you sure you've checked everywhere for her eggs? Chickens can lay in the strangest places, and often hide them. Does she have enough oyster shell? Weak shells can allow breakage, and hens can make broken eggs "disappear" by eating them.

The other obvious possible culprit, as nuthatched said, is that she is preparing to or in the middle of molting.
