At about what age will white leghorns start laying?
Around 20 weeks-ish
Ok that's what I figured, they are 20 weeks. They are completely free range so I better start looking I guess!! Thanks for the info!!
Are they doing any of the egg-laying things? Singing the egg song, squatting, spending time in the nest box, pelvic bones widening, tail feathers raising?
They are doing all of that, but they have been doing that for a few weeks so I was just curious when they were supposed to lay.
They definitely could be hiding them. I found my chickens hiding eggs.
Well they are completely free range no fences nothing so they could be anywhere!! I have been looking where I have seen them lay down sometimes but no luck yet...
Good luck! Hope you find some eggs soon
Found her first egg this morning!! In the nesting box too!!
Congrats! Yesterday I found 2 in a laying box and it was the first time either had laid.
