Thanks for the welcome...I've been lurking for a while and found this forum to be very helpful.
I'm in the Nevada side of the Sierra's, not too far from Tahoe but at a lower elevation. We live on a 1/2 acre. When the weather is nice and I'm home to supervise, they have the run of the yard...I don't let them on the small lawn too much but there is plenty of sagebrush and other stuff out in the pasture. Otherwise they have an A-frame coop with a 4 x 8 run on the bottom sitting on a raised bed for vegetables sometime in the future.
The future americauna coop will probably be much the same, except to figure out a better way to move it out to the pasture area in the spring. The current coop takes 4 people to move it.
