Does anyone possibly know the law for selling eggs in GA? Both for Hatching and for Eating? I found a post on the GA Ag Website, But it wasn't quite understandable.. And any posts I find on here are for 2008-2010, and any links that were given are now expired. It wouldn't be for a large amount. Maybe 5 Dozen a week. If that.

I see you are getting some views but no post. I do not know the Law in Georgia---I have never asked in SC. All I can say is I have sold as many as 60 dozen a week for eating and have sold 20 to 30 dozen a week for hatching at times. I have never asked the Laws, most of the hatching eggs were sold to one hatcher and some at a Auction. I know if you sell at the farmers Market----they require some different things. If you are going to sell to a few friends---I would just sell them. Sure if you were to start selling alot the Government would hold their hand out if you informed them of what you are doing. Good Luck

Thank you! I'm actually hoping we could take my daughter to the Local Flea Market. She's autistic, and our chickens are being used as Therapy chickens for her. I was hoping to be able to squeeze some social interaction into it, by letting her sell some eggs or chicks later on.

Let her----I have sold eggs at the Flea market many times---I use fake eggs for display and real eggs in a cooler with a cooler freeze pack in the warmer months. I have sold 1000's and 1000's of chicks. You will be fine. Just do your customers a favor----collect eggs daily----If you are going to sell once a week I would keep them in the fridge till sale day and into a cool cooler during the warmer months. If you do not know---Tractor Supply sells fake eggs that look real---white and brown. Good Luck

Alright! It'll be a bit before we start being able to sell anyway, But thank you! Just having chicks has helped her, I'm going to try to max out the potential growth opportunities for her!
