Our mixed flock has brown egg layers red sexlinks rir's black sexlink and white leghorns nine ladies 8 eggs yesterday no white eggs tan is as close to white as we get. Not complaining but curious due white leghorns not lay white eggs?

I only have one white leghorn and she lays pure white eggs. I've never heard of this breed laying anything differently...but I'm fairly new at all this. I hope someone can better answer your question.

We got 3 RIRs and 3 LHs of unknown age about a month ago. We started out with 2 brown eggs/day and 1 white every coupla days. Now we are getting 1 white every coupla days. Not earning their keep, except for the entertainment value.
Water and laying crumbles 24/7, 20x20 fenced run with a sandy floor, some sun, some shade, garden and table scraps(corn cobs). They always run to see us, even coming out of the coop when I go to close it at dusk. Wife is getting impatient as we cooked the last eggs for breakfast......

my pearl white leghorn started laying very light tan eggs, she used to lay white eggs, i put her in a separate pen just to make sure, and yes, shes laying tan eggs!! shes also been mated with a RIR roo, if that might have anything to do with it,
