Here to add that we also found a metallic sounding egg today from our young Easter egger pullet. I took a video of it compared to another of her eggs from days before. I will upload tomorrow if I remember!
So strange! I haven’t cracked it yet, though. It was so distinctly different, I noticed it immediately when I collected it and it touched the other eggs in my hand that it sounded like metal.
Even had my husband listen to it this evening when he got home to make sure I wasn’t crazy! Wish I knew why. I notice that it seems a bit more porous than the other eggs, I wonder if that has something to do with it? What an interesting mystery.
