Egg shells

I collec the shells in a zip lock bag, on fridays i bake them at 350 for 10 minutes then place the shells between to sheet of wax paper and use a rolling pin to crush em up all nice. I then place the crushed shell into a empty coffee can for later use. I apply crushed shell to the feed every saturday or if i notice the shells getting thinner than usual. i have stopped oyster shell all together, replaced by egg shell.

I just let mine dry out on the counter in a container - you dont need to bake them, its a preference thing some people prefer to do. If you want to dry them out faster - you can microwave them vs. sitting them on the counter. Mine dry out in 2 days time.

I put them in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin or my hand and store them that way - adding a little to their 'daily goody" they get. I still feed oyster shell however as IMO they need that too. A chicken will know how much calcium, oyster shell, and grit they need and will stop eating it.
