Egg size

Just trying to decide what to ask for them. Not organic, but free range.
It's a toughy.
Depends on the market you want to tap....and how savvy a marketer you are.
Are you looking for a profit or just cover your feed costs?
I only have enough birds to sell to a few customers, and a few more during peak times, when I started 7 years ago.
I did not want to sell to the general public.
Am not marketing with any buzzwords and I picked a price that was fairly common with a few other local sellers $3.50/dz . Had to explain what those buzzwords really meant in the commercial arena.
Better to start higher and have a 'sale' rather than trying to up your price down the road.

I live in a pretty rural area and really thought of putting up a sign at the road. Would be neighbors at best buying them. My husband has several at his work that want to buy on a regular basis. With 28 chickens, I’m sure I will get up to 20 a day. Right now getting on average 16 a day. Thanks for your info. Appreciated.

I think it depends on your competition too. We live in a rural area so It seems like everyone has a flock of chickens and there are egg stands all over. My neighbors sell them for $2 a dozen, I’ve seen $2.50 and up to $3.00 a dozen on signs. If you have the market though I think $3 is a fair price
