my new chkns rd island blk sex link new hamshier red. are just starting to lay. but there, real small. is this norm. the chks from last year wernt this small. any thoughts?

Yes, it is very normal. They are pullet eggs and are much smaller than regular sized eggs. In about a month you will see a difference in the size. Mine just started to lay last week and I can already see an increase in the egg size.
