"Egg song" question

I've read on here about the "egg song" and seen a youtube video of a chicken doing the Egg song after laying an egg.

Well, of my few hens, I don't hear anything AFTER they lay an egg. But, BEFORE they lay an egg, they do this whining thing...I can't even figure out how to type the sound they make, but it's how I know they're about to lay an egg. After, they just come out of the coop and act like nothing's happened. LOL

So, do any of your hens only make a ruckus BEFORE laying and not after?

Mine make both. But ours also make that 'whinning' sometimes in subsitute of the cackling. Before and after-it really doesn't make much difference.

mine do it before and after especially before-you would think they were getting beat up it is so noisy-I like it though-I can allways tell who is laying because 2 of my hens are SOOO noisy-and they are the biggest egg layers!

One of our two laying hens makes this whining sounds when she lays. The other one makes it when she goes up to the coop for the night. Strange ...
