Egg song

last night i put everyone to bed and my 2 production reds started doing this weird song.. and i read what other post about the song and its definatly "The song". With that being said are they gonna lay their first eggs soon? They are 17 weeks old today.

Our hens do the "egg song" very loud, cluck, cluck, clucking when they have an egg to lay and someone else is in their favorite nesting box. It is hilarious to watch. There will be other spots open, but until their favorite one is empty they keep up the loudest "song" i.e. cackle. Once the offending hen moves on and they jump in, there is peace and quiet almost instantly.
