Our chickens are still to young to lay, 13 weeks today, but I have read some references to sounds/song when they are ready to lay. What does that sound like. What are some other laying signs?

I have been a professional dog trainer for 10 years and have been around horses for 20+ but these chickens may as well be aliens to me. I am trying to learn as I go, but one thing is for sure...they keep us all laughing!

I don't know about songs, but some of mine get really loud when they lay. [IMG]

Mine sing "Bawk, Bawk, Bawk, BA GAAWWWWK!" for about 5 minutes +/- total (before ,during, and after laying) Sometimes the other ladies chime in to cheer her on [IMG].

You're in the right place, I've learned so much from everyone here.

Good luck and enjoy your chooks!
