So this morning (late in the morning) my mom got the 5 eggs, and left them outside, on the chicken coop. We came back a few hours later and 3 eggs were completely missing, and two were taken part ways away, cracked, and only the yolks were eaten. This also happened in broad daylight. The chickens acted a little freaked out when I saw them, but not traumatized. Our chickens can't get to the eggs. Our only pets that can get to them are cats, but I don't think it was them. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could've been?

Is there any chance you might have a broody hen on the property? Those gals can drag eggs quite a ways. Nope they don't need a rooster to go hormonal. If you live in Texas I would be thinking snake, but you do not have a location edited in.

The reason I mention a broody is we just found a predator lost hen today, and yep she moved a clutch of eggs into an impossible location. The Harris Hawks didn't get her, but her hormones did. Time for her to do jail time:(
