6 months for my BBB hen. now shes has laid i think 17 in 3 weeks. she doesnt nest, but she does have a spot in the coop an thats the only place she will lay. only problem is is a chicken gets in the way she will sit on them.... lol i wish i was kidding but her fat butt crushed one of my young copper maran hens. Shes laid 3 over sized double yokers tho.

Great to know, but kind of funny. did the chicken survive?

All birds seam to do that when they first start to lay, give her a little more time, and give your BCM hens another nesting spot, because she ain't giving up hers!!! lol

LOL the goobers wont use the lay boxes. Once we get moved im planning to build permanent lay boxes into the coop extending out & enabling egg collection outside. I just dont want to do it pre moving and have to pay out the butt for oversize permits :)
