I am about to incubate some Japanese quail and I have a egg turner. On day 14 I see that I am suppose to stop turning the eggs. So should I just leave in turner or remove all the eggs and lay on a mat on bottom?

Kinda depends on how much work you want to do & how many you have. The turner will get pretty nasty if you hatch in it so if it is a dozen I'd move them to an egg create. If it is 120 I'd probably leave them in the turner. Half way in between I'd have to think about it. I've read you get better hatch rates if you leave them up. I've only did this so I don't know if it is or not. I'm usually lucky to even remember to turn mine off in time. I usually hear chicks before I get around to turning it off & usually have a stuck chick to rescue.

I have started relying on Google Calendar so maybe I'll do better.

I live in South Louisiana and the incubator is set at 100.5 but I can not get my humidity below 50%. I pulled the 2 plugs on top for more air flow. I just don't want to start off in a bad note.
Is 50% humidity to high? Seems most try to start off around 40% humidity.

Sometimes you just have to take what you can get. You can put a dehumidifier in the room to get it lower but I've hatches with high humidity all the way through.
