Does having an egg turner increase your hatch rate?

I'm not sure that can be answered with a yes or a no. If you turn by hand you run the risk of getting bateria on the eggs from your hands and also losing heat and humidity when you open the lid. If you use a turner you can keep the bator closed so it could increase hatch rate but hand turning is probably just as good, sorry for such a wishy washy answer.
