I am incubating RIR eggs right now in a recently purchased " EGG INCUBATOR". This machine will turn the eggs every two hours. What it actually does is swing the eggs either right or left momentarily and then back to the bottom position. Is this sufficient turning for the eggs? Thanks

I question the momentarily statement.. When eggs are turned they are turned and left in that position until the next turning..

Yes the eggs are set upright with the small end down. I discovered today the problem why this incubator wasn't working properly. The arm which is used as a lever came off of the motor shaft. Once I reconnected it, egg cradle now swings either right or left and stays in that position until the two hour cycle turns the cradle in the opposite direction and again maintains that position.
Thanks
