I have been finding a white egg under the roost several mornings in the past month. It is from one of our three Leghorns. Last night I went out and there was a broken paper shell egg that was dropped under the roost. They are not confused as they are almost 2. Is it common for one to begin laying while roosting?

Yes- they do that sometimes when they first start laying.
