Why did one of my hens lay an egg with no shell? It was the shape of an egg, somewhat solid, yet definitely eggy inside. Never seen this before. They eat layer pellets, scratch, house food, and free range. They eat great! Any ideas??

Also might want to think about putting some oyster shells out for them. I just mix it with feed from time to time so they have all the calcium they need hope.that helps.

No worries! I like to keep oyster shell out for mine like the others suggested, but even with it it is very common for new layers to have a few glitches.

I have some of my teenagers roosting on the front porch (

Pullets can be goofy, but as long as it's not a regular thing you don't need to worry about it.
