Anyone at all hatched just one egg, it was pointed on one end but it hatched out a hen?

For quail, yes. One of our pointed quail eggs hatched into my favorite little quail female. For chicken eggs, we will see in a week or two once they hatch.

Old wives tale. If it was that simple to determine sex of chicks hatcheries wouldn't need to employ vent sexers to try to get to 90% accuracy.
