Egg without shell? Whats with this egg...

Welcome to BYC.
Only one, wait till it occurs a couple of times to worry. Every hen can get it wrong once and awhile. Try adding a calcium supplement first.
If you are talking about sweet corn, never had a problem with them eating it. Just throw the ear in the run and they do the rest. Let the chickens do the work of taking it off the cob, gives them something to do. I do that with the indian corn from the decorations too.

Do you think thunderstorms/lightening will cause this too? We have had quick a bit of storms in the last few weeks and I have found 3 eggs which the girls have been eating. I try to get the eggs or what is left as soon as I find them. Plus, lots of motorcycles right now due to the Sturgis rally. I just hope they stop or at least less frequent.

I have an occasional egg without a shell, but may be stress as it happen often after skunks, gray fox or raccoons have been near hen house at night and do occasionally have a bobcat on my trail cam.
