I can't find the info on this....I know I've seen it before.....I have 6 RIReds, not quite a year old and they've been laying regulary....today I found a perfectly intack egg without a shell, outside of the nest in the coop....is there a link or info I need to know about? thanks for any advice or input....

It's called a soft shelled egg. It's just a fluke in the plumbing and nothing to worry about unless it is happening on a regular basis.

Good luck.

I noticed I tend to get these more often with new layers and again with older layers. Never caused a problem. Just a fluke, like CMV said.

Thanks so much....love my girls and worry about everything! They seemed fine and have no idea which one it was....just glad it's not a biggie!
