City gone country...got a 51/2 acre ranch...enjoying my chickens. only had them for a week and on my second dozen eggs. I'm kinda a novice at this and am glad to be acquainted with many other chicken lovers. I welcome advice, I'm not sure when or if I can let them out of the coop. My coop is a chain linked fence fully covered about 20x7 they seem to enjoy it. When should I let them out or should I? This is new but it is so much fun. from California to Georgia I'm loving it.

Hello and welcome to BYC [IMG] Glad you joined us! I'm sure your chickens would love to be let out, if it's safe. But leave them in a coop/run for a week or 2 first, so they know where "home" is.

Greetings from Kansas, foeoneone, and [IMG]! Pleased you joined us! I agree with Sumi - give them a little confinement and they will return to home. Good luck and have fun!
