Egg yolk all over the eggs.

one of my hens has a laying problem... her eggs either have egg yolk smeared all over the shell or on two occassions she became a cannon and yolk splattered all over the wall of the coop and no shells could be found what is happening?

i hate to say this but it sounds like you have an egg eating hen on your hands.esp with egg on other eggs.how meny hens do you have.

How do you find or stop the egg eaters? They make such a mess.

you really just have to watch the hens.they are pretty hard to catch eating eggs.the best thing todo is gather eggs several times a day.

I think you're right but I haven't had time to watch them. I should set a trap for her. Put an egg out in the open and see who goes for it.
