I noticed several days ago that my 3 year old white leghorn hen was all puffed up, not moving, and that her comb was almost all purple. I wasn't home until yesterday afternoon, and she was still like that. I separated her from the others so that I could keep a closer eye on her. It seems like her abdomen is swollen, and she has almost no feathers on her stomach. She doesn't walk much and slightly waddles when she does. She usually just stands there all puffed up. (she has a more upright stance than normal.)I am wondering because of her age and breed if it is egg yolk peritonitis. I'm not sure if she is eating and drinking, she does move around a little bit and is alert on and off. Is there anything I can do for her?
