Egg yolk peritonitis?

Thank you! I use to have oyster shells out years ago but I swear they didn’t touch em. I’ll get that going asap.
Sometimes it seems that they don't, but they usually will pick up a piece or two on occasion.

Hopefully getting the extra Calcium tablets into her will resolve this crisis and she'll be able to expel any material or egg that is causing her symptoms.

I hope so. We are on day 3. She can barely stand up 😢

Poor girl:(

What's her crop like, is it emptying?

Were you able to give her a Calcium Tablet? I just usually pull down on the wattles, pop the tablet into the beak and let them swallow. If you wish, you can 1/2 the tablet and give her a smaller piece at a time, but it's important to get at least 300mg Calcium into her daily for a few days.

Her crop is pretty empty I gave her some calcium and d3 last night and then again today. I offered her yogurt and she actually took quite few bites of that.

Idk what wrong with her it’s been 4 days now? She hasn’t passed anything other than stool. She is eating now but is very unsteady on her feet

Hopefully she'll make a turn for the better.

I'd start vitamins if you haven't done so. Give 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4tablet B-Complex daily.

See that she's eating a nutritionally balanced poultry feed. For a treat offer tidbits of egg or fish (tuna, sardines, mackerel).

My personal feeling is becareful with tuna, I actually used some tuna after my hen started to turn around and she went back downhill. Although my other hen took it down no issue. I had a second thought about the smell and this was right after she bounced back. I lost her.

Tuna is also a little tough to digest than say the sardines so I'd say maybe go with those if you're going to.

If peritonitis I would be concerned about a developing infection, so if you don't have any drugs, the other thing I have on hand is coconut oil which you can freeze as small cubes ahead of time and let them thaw a bit before hand, or give with soft food or warmed up so it can be melted and given via syringe.

Thank you I do eggs all the time. I’ve never tried the fish!
