Has anyone ever had a hen lay her first egg (very small) then one regular small egg an has not layed any for 3 days? The other chickens do not miss like this after they first start laying. Just wanted to know if this has happened to any one else?

Many times this happens. They might lay 1 and then miss a day or two before laying another. It takes some time for their systems get adjusted. The eggs should get larger as time goes on and the timing will get more regulated.

My red leghorn laid her first egg and then didn't lay another one for over a week. I checked all around their pen for eggs, but none. I watched her and she ate, pooped and ran all around acting just like a chicken should. Over a week later she finally laid another little pullet egg in the same nest box as her first egg. Her laying has picked up since.
