Ok so My runners and wood ducks share a pen. The runners typically lay their eggs in the coop. The wood ducks do not go in the coop but have a ground box in the corner of the pen with branches over it so they have a little "alley way" to go away and hide. I found an egg laying on the ground with a very soft shell in the middle of the pen. I think it was a runners. Today I noticed in the wood ducks alley where they made a nest to sleep there was an egg. The wood ducks have been kinda chasing the runners away from that area. Could It be a wood duck egg or possibly a runner went back there and laid? I will try to post a picture with out disturbing the area.
