Eggbid Issues

I think having an auction site here, a la Eggbid, would be wonderful. I think it would make it much easier keeping track of the auctions and sales that go on in the forums, and would cut out a lot of the chatter and bumping that goes on. I wouldnt mind at all paying nominal (I said nominal) fees in order to keep it running, and it would certainly help with this site's maintenance, which is all a good thing.

BYCBid...Im likin it.

I, too, had problems with Eggbid, so I just don't use it anymore.

We already have a feedback forum which is full of feedback, so its not like BYCBid would be starting up with no track record behind it.

Maybe BYCBid can be related to BYC, but not a direct part of it... maybe a separate website? That way mods, etc. can be divided between the two websites. Some mods would continue doing their thing here, and others can handle the operations of the auction site.

Just an idea.

I had a balance well over a year ago, though I have a hard time figuring out if its credit or what I owe. So, I paid them $50 to get a credit again and nothing happened. So, I e-mailed them and again nothing.
The only time I ever got an e-mail from them was when I helped them out by pointing out some of those fake bidders that were going nuts a while back. But since then, nothing.

Anyway, I just do not worry about sending them any more money, if they want it bad enough, they can e-mail me and we can discuss it.

If folks want a free fee setup on BYCBids.com, it can be done. I love the set up like Eggbid, and Ebay does. You just go and do your biddings and not have to deal with the chatters and bumping and etc. like we found here on the sales forums.

For buyers, it can either go as pay status or free status to ad their chickens on the sales forum. They can post pics and details like you do with Eggbid/Ebay section.

It would be a nice set up and go from there. If any complains, it would be between the seller and buyer. If unresolved then there should be a moderator(s) that can find a happy medium.

Lets hope Rob can figure out something! The more we motivate, the more they can get it off the ground.

I dunno whether a BYCbid thing is positive for most folks or not.

I DO KNOW that either way......someone will find a reason to complain.

ALSO, based upon this thread, I don't expect I'll try to do ANYTHING with Eggbid. My experiences with Ebay (on other matters) have been irritating enough.

I once advertised a barrel for a shotgun on Ebay and they "quashed it" saying it was a "dangerous, unpermitted item". Hmmph!

Do any of you remember when Ebay "banned" the sale of fertile eggs because it was a "bad thing" for the little chickies?

FEAR NOT....The Rules are made by the "ignorant" for the "ignorant".

off my soapbox,

I can say that it is easier to keep track of what's up for auction on a site like eBay or eggbid, but I would much rather buy from an auction going on on BYC. I find it to be more trustworthy. I know they'd have to charge in order to have a bycbid, which would probably annoy a good number of people, especially if they've been selling on here for free, successfully. On the record keeping, if people pay for your auctions on here through paypal, I don't know why it would bedifficult to keep records... Just my thoughts

I'll tell you why I like the "chatter". I won two separate auctions on the same day from the same seller for the same birds, which was fine by me. Another buyer got in right after me, but missed the time. I saw she had been trying to get these, so I told her she could take them, since I had won another auction for the same breed just before that. So, I'm happy. The seller is happy, got paid more. And the other buyer is happy.

That couldn't have happened on eggbid or ebay, because it's so much more anonymous. The questions aren't out in the open for everyone to see, the seller gets to decide what they want to let others see on ebay, and there's nothing for eggbid.

I have purchased from ebay, eggbid and here. I love it here, I love it the way it is.

If it changes I'll stay here...either way this is the place to be!
