eggbid.net

I just found out about this eggbid.net thing.
My name is Scott and I was a co-owner of eggbid.com with Tim.
Without a long explanation, I broke my back in a work accident, had a bunch of hardware installed, and I'm currently suffering from a neurological disorder called Isaac's Syndrome. That's what happened to my end of eggbid.com, and where I went.
I have no idea what became of Tim, I've tried to contact him numerous times. I can only pray he's not sick or hurt.
I have no idea why he let the site go down.

Back to the eggbid.net thing...
I just called to ask why they thought it was okay to use our name, eggbid. The gentleman who answered the phone hung up on me, then wouldn't answer the phone thereafter.
Here's the thing...
The name Eggbid belongs to Tim and I, it's our intellectual property. Any knucklehead in the world knows they can't just open up a restaurant and call it McDonald's. As a matter of fact, at one time Eggbid was called Eggbay. Tim and I had to changed the name and domain because Ebay's lawyers contacted us. We did it in about ten seconds because I read up and found that Ebay owns the word "bay" as it relates to electronic auctions. Their lawyer was a great guy and gave us plenty of time to change the name and domain, and was a pleasure to talk to. He really helped us a lot.

At any rate, my personal opinion is that I'd not trust anyone who'd steal someone's name with the intent of profitting on someone else's work, then hang up the phone when he's called on it.
If I was the kind of person that sues people, I'd do it and win. I just don't have the health or resent to bother.
I will mention it to one of our lawyers to see if they're willing to make a stink and shut it down and make things right.

The only reason I called the guy was to ask him to stop using the name that belongs to me. It wouldn't have cost him a dime to fix what he knew better than to do in the first place.
A big reason why Tim and I became disgusted with eggbid is because of the way people treated each other and stole and lied and cheated. It was very disillusioning. Now this.

We truly loved so, so many of our friends at eggbid. There were so many kind, beautiful, wonderful people that were so good to each other. That type of community is what we dreamed of creating. An extension to the hobby we so loved. We always did it for the love, as it certainly wasn't for the money that almost all got put back into serving out the site.

Ultimately, I don't want people to think this new guy who's very name is stolen to represent Tim and I.
I won't abide by that, it's wrong. I hope you'll all help me in getting the word around.
God Bless you and yours!!!

Good to hear you in here Scott and I do missed the Eggbid.....I used to remember it was so popular, having four pages long of different breeds to cater to all sorts of poultry fanciers.

Would you be able or EVER get Eggbid up again?

Glad to hear from you Scott, I use eggbid alot , then these #@^&* stole the name , even had it going before Eggbid.com closed. I was sending you emails about them...even sent them a number of emails telling them so.

When they first start ,they even used the same pic of eggbid like an egg.

He also list infor on eggbid.com.. I won it as and AUCTION for a 1,000.00 so he would have to pay eggbid.com selling fee

I didn't have access to eggbid email for a long time, I wish I had, I'd have taken care of this guy a long time ago.
Thanks a million for getting my back. Were it not for all the people who did along the way, we'd never have been able to keep eggbid usable for the long time that we did.
So far as this knucklehead from Maine, I'm sure he'll get his due. There's right and wrong, and things have a way of sorting out.

Thanks for trying to help me out, even though I wasn't around!!!

It is a real wonder why people do that even we had NO idea behind the motive. Alot of us were mad because we could not get anyone to respond, now we know. Yeah we got to take our words back after the fact!

Oh! I'm glad you are recovering from your accident. While we are sharing first experiences with eggbid, I ordered eggs and the seller sent cash back in the box because he didn't have but one extra egg to add to my order. For all the 'bad press' I'd heard about shipped 'eggs for hatching', I hatched 6 great chicks from 7 shipped eggs.
