OK, I know what to do with an eggbound chicken, but what in the world do I do with an eggbound guinea?

I just can't see her sitting still for a nice warm sitz bath, or letting me clean her up or heaven forbid oil her vent. Can't you just see her freaking out?

Any thoughts on this? Has anyone ever helped an eggbound guinea?

Symptoms: Slow and lethargic, lump between legs, white stuff dripping out of vent. This is eggbound, right? I can't catch her to feel the lump, of course.

I feel for you. I hope mine never get wounded because I sure couldnt catch them if they needed care.

I hope someone can help you or that she can help herself

Someone recently had a bird like that and had success with warm towelling/rags over a heating pad...I understand the problem in that you have to catch her, but if this continues she will be very easy to catch, if she survives...very sorry to hear your dilemna.

We're leaving her for now in hopes she'll pass it. This is the first day and she's eating and drinking all right. As soon as she gets more lethargic, we'll try to help her.

Thanks for the support.
